Privacy Policy

This policy applies to information processed in connection with: (a) our marketing and informational website; (b) account registration and the web app; (c) mobile or desktop clients that contribute spare compute; and (d) communications you send us (for example support or contact requests).

It does not cover third-party websites, app stores, payment processors, or services we do not control. Those parties have their own privacy practices.

Cellit is designed so the network uses spare hardware capacity — not the personal content on your device. We do not access your photos, messages, files, browsing history, contacts, camera, microphone, or the contents of apps you use for personal or work purposes in order to run compute jobs.

Contribution is optional. You set schedule, CPU, and related limits. You can pause or stop participation at any time from the app.

Account and identity. If you create an account we may collect your name or display name, email address, authentication credentials or tokens, and similar account details needed to sign you in and pay or attribute earnings.

Device and contribution telemetry. To operate the network safely we collect technical data such as device type, operating system, client version, contribution status (active or paused), capacity you allocate, CPU/load limits you set, session duration, connectivity, crash or error logs, and earnings or contribution totals. This is operational telemetry, not the content of your personal files.

Website usage. When you visit our website we may collect IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP. If we use cookies or similar technologies, we use them to keep the site working, remember preferences, and understand aggregate traffic. See section 8.

Communications. If you email us or submit a form, we keep the content of that message and your contact details so we can respond.

Payments. If we pay you or you pay us, payment identifiers (for example wallet address or payout account details) are processed as needed to complete the transaction. Card or bank data, if any, is typically handled by a payment provider, not stored in full by Cellit.

We use information to: provide and improve the website, app, and network; create and secure accounts; measure spare capacity and schedule jobs within the limits you set; calculate and display earnings; prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; comply with law; and communicate with you about the service, including important operational notices.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the contents of your personal device storage to train models or to profile you for advertising.

If you are in a region that requires a legal basis for processing (including the EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions), we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the service you request); our legitimate interests (operating a secure network, improving the product, preventing abuse) where those interests are not overridden by your rights; consent where we ask for it (for example optional cookies); and legal obligation where we must retain or disclose information.

We share information with service providers who help us host infrastructure, send email, authenticate users, process payouts, or analyse aggregated product usage — under contracts that limit their use of the data.

We may share information if required by law, to protect Cellit, our users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to keep the information protected.

Compute jobs run on participating devices as isolated workloads. Job requesters receive compute results from the network, not a dump of your personal files or identity, unless you separately choose to share that information.

We keep account and earnings records for as long as your account is active and as needed for tax, accounting, dispute, and legal purposes after closure. Telemetry and logs are kept for a limited operational period unless a longer period is required for security or compliance. Website analytics are kept in aggregate or for a limited time according to the tool we use.

Our website may use strictly necessary cookies to operate the site. If we use optional analytics cookies, we will do so in line with applicable law. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect site functionality.

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, and isolation of compute workloads from personal device content. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we hold about you; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise these rights, use the Cellit account deletion page at /delete-account or email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some rights may not apply to purely technical logs that are not linked to you, or to information we must keep by law.

Cellit is not directed at children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers, such as contractual clauses recognised by applicable law.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
